Lights will be turned off tonight for a few hours for the Earth Hour. Let’s all join in!
But why should we? Do we really know why there is an “Earth Hour” that’s being organized every year?
“Earth Hour” is being initiated and implemented by the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature.
It aims to promote awareness to people all over the globe about climate change. Also, it aims to create a global awareness to help everyone know he or she can help protect our planet.
The number of countries participating in this event continues to increase each year during the month of March. This is a good sign that the purpose of “Earth Hour” is being more widely publicized. It will be of immense help in protecting the Earth. We should all do our share of protecting it as our planet continues to suffer, sadly due to man-made causes.
Earth hour is not just about saving electricity for a few hours every year.
It’s about contributing in the goal of preserving and protecting the world we live in.
And just how can we really support and make the Earth Hour a huge success?
I believe the only way we can really make it work is when each and every one of us will really strive to care for Nature.
The purpose of Earth Hour is successful when we conserve water and electricity not just during this event, but every hour of each day. It’s when we avoid using chemicals and other elements which can damage our environment, all creatures living in it, and our health too. Likewise, it’s effective when we unceasingly orient the younger generations about sustainability. We can make make a big difference when we succeed in making them understand that they have a role too in protecting Mother Earth.
Let’s all remember that tonight as we turn off our lights.
